Why I study Computer Science?
When I entered UC Berkeley as a philosophy major, my primary objective was to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, I soon realized that the philosophy program leaned more towards historical studies with a focus on philosophers, which didn't align with my interests. Seeking a more practical avenue, I made the decision to switch to Cognitive Science, with a specific focus on exploring the intersection of neurology and machine learning.
During my transition to Cognitive Science, I encountered an introductory computer science course that ignited my passion. The deep problem-solving challenges and collaborative teamwork inherent in computer science and programming immediately captivated me. Since then, my curiosity has been continuously stimulated, driving me to explore various aspects of computer science, such as algorithms, data structures, and software development.
This transformative experience propelled me to pursue my passion further, driving me to continually seek knowledge and growth in the field of computer science, and to leverage my cognitive science background to contribute meaningfully to the exciting realms of neurology and machine learning.
What’s my favorite Movie?
People rarely actually ask me this but I like to share. Number one is Good Will Hunting, followed closely by Parasite.
What do I do for fun?
There’s almost nothing I love more than cooking for people I care about. I’m of the belief that nothing brings people together more than stuffing our faces with delicious food. After cooking I enjoy reading, rock climbing, and learning new skills. Some of my favorite books are Sapiens, Homo Deus, You’re Not Listening, and The Bluest Eye.
