My Story
I am currently studying computer science at UC Berkeley.
I'm a third-year Computer Science student at UC Berkeley, passionate about software engineering and deep learning. With a strong foundation in programming and software development, I enjoy building robust applications, designing algorithms, and optimizing performance. Deep learning has captivated me, and I've explored neural networks, convolutional and recurrent architectures, and the latest advancements in machine learning. Through internships, personal projects, and research, I continuously expand my skills and knowledge. I'm excited to contribute to impactful projects and collaborate with others who share my enthusiasm. My goal is to leverage software engineering and deep learning to create innovative solutions that push technological boundaries and make a positive impact.
Experience
- Amazon Visual Shopping — Summer 2024
At Amazon, I developed a debugging tool for the visual search engine ('More like this'), addressing a critical bottleneck that improved debug time by 25%, leading to increased revenue and customer engagement. I owned the end-to-end development of a data ingestion pipeline, utilizing AWS S3, Lambda, SNS, and OpenSearch, and produced comprehensive documentation to ensure a smooth handoff. Additionally, I designed and implemented a REST API for domain-specific queries to the OpenSearch cluster and the frontend UI in Node.js with the Ant Design library, which enhanced developer debugging and supported a high-impact production feature.
- CS61B Teaching Assistant — Spring 2024 - Present
As a Teaching Assistant for Data Structures and Algorithms (CS61B), I lead a weekly discussion section for around 30 students, where I prepare them for exams through practice questions and mini-lectures on data structures, algorithms, project design, and git/version control. In addition to the discussion section, I conduct a weekly lab session focused on teaching debugging skills, implementing data structures, and guiding project development. I also contribute to the course by writing midterm and final exam questions for approximately 1,500 students.”
- Computer Science Mentors Berkeley — Fall 2023 - Present
I teach a small group of undergraduate students a supplemental section for their Data Structures and Algorithms course (CS61B). Here, I cultivate a learning-friendly environment while mini-lecturing and doing discussion worksheets. Teaching for this course also helps me fine-tune my own knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- EOS Connectivity — Summer 2023
During the summer, I had the opportunity to intern at EOSConnectivity, an IoT company specializing in an API-centric platform for fleet tracking and vehicle sharing. My role as a full stack developer focused on building a Named Entity Recognition system to extract and process client and vehicle data, as well as, using word embeddings to translate Natural language into chip receivable commands.
This internship allowed me to further refine my interests and discover a passion for backend development. Working on real-world projects for a company gave me valuable insights into professional programming beyond academic assignments. I gained practical experience in using Git for version control, working with multi-platform and multi-language environments. Additionally, I learned about the intricacies of code complexity, managing interdependent directories, handling HTTP requests, and utilizing staging and build services.
- Visiquate Inc. — Summer 2022
During the summer after my first year of college, I had the opportunity to intern at Visiquate Inc., a healthcare analytics company specializing in reducing the financial losses associated with unpaid medical insurance claims. This internship provided me with invaluable professional skills, including corporate organization, product design and launch, effective data representation, personal advocacy, and collaboration within group projects.
Working at Visiquate helped me refine my career goals and explore different paths. It was a transformative experience that guided me towards discovering various career opportunities.
